Lab-Grade Biomechanics. Anywhere Movement Happens.

The XO-SOLE brings authentic 3D Ground Reaction Force (GRF) measurement out of the lab and into the real world, with full data fidelity and powerful dashboards.

XO-SOLE: Authentic Movement. Authentic Data.

Biomechanics research has traditionally been limited to controlled lab environments, using force plates and motion capture. The XO-SOLE enables lab-grade 3D GRF measurement in the field, clinic, or on the move, so you can capture authentic movement without compromising data quality. Integrated Smartfoam technology and a 9-axis IMU deliver a full force-time profile across mediolateral, vertical, and anterior-posterior axes, all synced directly to the XO-SOLE dashboard for immediate analysis.

Study-Validated Accuracy For Biomechanics Research

3D GRF Measuring

XO-SOLE PRO has been scientifically validated against force-instrumented treadmills, the gold standard for GRF measurement. The XO-SOLE PRO shows excellent reliability across mediolateral, anteroposterior, and vertical forces, while other wearable technologies are limited solely to vertical.

Full 3D GRF & Kinematics Data

Mediolateral GRF graph

Critical for assessing balance, asymmetry, and injury risk

Vertical GRF graph.

Essential for impact and load studies

Anteroposterior GRF graph.

Key for assessing propulsion and braking efficiency

The entire XO-SOLE system, including the XO-SOLE and our dashboard software, streamline the path from data collection to analysis. Ground reaction forces and motion data are synchronized automatically and visualized immediately through the XO-SOLE dashboard, eliminating time-consuming post-processing. Researchers can examine force-time curves, symmetry, loading patterns, and movement efficiency across trials and subjects, making for faster iteration, smoother interpretation, and more efficient research, whether data is collected in the lab or the field.

How We Stack Up

XO-SOLE PRO redefines movement and gait analysis by accurately capturing forces and movement in every direction. Here’s how we compare to other systems.

Inside the XO-SOLE

Engineered with XO-NANO’s patented Smartfoam, the XO-SOLE is built to capture real movement accurately and reliably. Each insole is built from a continuous layer of Smartfoam that captures forces across the entire foot, revealing exactly how and where load is being applied with every step.

As the Smartfoam compresses, force data is captured directly within the insole and combined with motion data from a built-in 9-axis IMU, which tracks acceleration, rotation, and direction. Together, these inputs are translated into a complete 3D GRF profile, giving you a clear picture of how the body interacts with the ground during real-world movement.

Every detail is designed for performance and usability: Bluetooth (BLE) connectivity for wireless data transfer, up to 14-hours of battery life, and a lightweight design under 100 grams, or 3.5 oz, per insole. Available in men’s sizes 4–18, the XO-SOLE offers lab-grade biomechanics without the lab, giving athletes, clinicians, and researchers freedom to measure movement anywhere.
